| Secondhand Smoke myths are numerous. Many have been spread by the tobacco industry:
Myth: Air filters clean smoke from the air.
Response: Air filters have not been proven to extract the secondhand smoke toxins from the air. Smoke still lingers and passed through others.
Myth: Smoke in the air is a symptom of bad ventilation. Ventilation is the problem.
Reponse: While ventilation is important, smoke is the air means only one thing...someone is smoking. Secondhand smoke has been determined to be a class A carcinogen by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Myth: Smoking bans are bad for business.
Reponse: Wrong. It's been proven that people prefer non-smoking venues. Many bars and restaurants who
have faught smoking restrictions quickly learn of its benefit.
